The model we are using is that software will be available for free, demonstration purposes within reason, and that general on-demand access will be offered via user accounts with a small fee per use. For light (occasional) use, this will be significantly cheaper and easier than traditional installation, and will provide access to the most up-to-date version of any program. For more frequent use of a program, it will still be more efficient to install locally.
As well as programs, we expect to provide remote access to input data such as material properties for simulations. Remote data access will also be available from some installed programs.
To use cloud computing versions of WSTS software, the first step is to register for an account.
